TED announces TEDIndia 2009 Fellows

TED has announced the name of 103 individuals as TEDIndia 2009 fellows. They will be participating in TED India to be held in Mysore from Nov 4-7 2009. As mentioned on their website and as is evident from a cursory glance at the list, many of them have innovated in the field of social change – a characteristic befitting the Indian edition.

Prayas Abhinav Artist and founder of CitySpinning, an organization working to expand the nature and use of public and unused urban spaces

Yamini Aiyar Director of the Accountability Initiative, an organization working to strengthen accountability and engagement in Indian governance processes

Irfan Alam Founder of the SammaaN Foundation, an social enterprise systematizing the rickshaw business

Reshma Anand Founder of Earthy Goods, a venture enabling rural agri-based businesses to be competitive

Gaurav Mishra CEO of social media research and strategy firm 20:20 Social and co-founder of Vote Report India, a citizen-powered election monitoring platform

Sunita Nadhamuni CEO of Arghyam, a charitable Indian foundation with a mission to promote safe, sustainable water for all
